I have two. Bullseye, and 2400. My Bullseye has several uses, but the 2400 is for my .357 magnums.

W231 (.45) and H4831 (.270) are my two standby powders when I don't do something asinine like give away my last lb of 231 and get stuck using a Unique powder I've never loaded with.

I like Hp-38 because it meters through my charger very well. I haven't loaded with Titegroup yet, though, so I reserve judgment. 8)

In my limited experience I like W231 for .45 and 9mm. For .223 I like Accurate 2230 but haven't been able to get any for a long time so W748 has filled in pretty well.

W231, which I broke up with Bullseye for. Hodgdon Universal is my "Unique"

I like Bullseye for my semi auto pistols and am going to try out 2400 in place of Unique for my revolvers. Unique is all right but I want a bulkier powder for those long revolver cases.

I settled on Unique for my 9mm and 40 and IMR 4350 for my Mosin Nagant reloading. BTW - my spell checker wants to change Nagant for Nugent.:)

Well as 38 Super, 10 MM and 45 ACP is my favorite and most shot calibers then Accurate #5 is the favorite, I do use unique and Hp -38 for the lower feeders in the life chain like the 9 MM and 380.

Favorite powderS:

I have a number of loads in 9 and 40 (with varying bullet weights/types) - from meeting a minimum power factor, major PF & SD/HD - I lean on WSF, Alliant #7 and Blue Dot.

In 223 I use 2230 and recently Alliant Power Pro Varmint. I have the classic Varget on the shelf that I have yet to try.

I started with W 231/HP 38 for my fast pistol powder needs and never saw a reason to change. It meters very well and I can usually find it. H 335 is what I started with for .223 and have recently bought some Benchmark which I've not loaded with yet...I am a little concerned with it metering through my Lee Powder measure with the adjustable charge bar.

Hodgdon Clays for .45 and .38, Bullseye for 9mm, .380. Haven't really settled on a .357 or .223 favorite yet.

Well I will leave the rifles out and cover the 9mm, 45 ACP and 45 Colt. I have and use Bullseye, Unique, Universal, Clays, Titegroup, and HP-38 all of which seem to work well with all of the bullets I load in pistols. Now if I had to only choose one it would be either Universal or HP-38 as both meter extremely well for me though Titegroup and Clays also work well.

Now my rifles are easier with Trailboss for both my 45 Colt and 45-70 for plinking/target and even some game loads. Now the 45 Colt I like Lil'Gun for full out hunting loads with 290 to 320 gr bullets which are great for pigs to black bear at up to 75 yards max. Now the 45-70 is IMR 4198, IMR 3031 or RL-7 depending on the bullet and powder will take any game on this planet up to about 200 yards if I can hit it. If I had to choose one it would be 4198 easily with a 405 gr L-RNFP bullet.

So to sum it up I really don't have a single favorite powder really. I have liked every one so far that I've tried. There are still a couple powders I want to try such as Winchester WST for 9mm and 45 ACP as well as 2400, Winchester Lite powder for shot gun shells.

Bullseye: 38 Special, 357 Mag, 380 ACP, 45 ACP
HP-38: 38 Special, 357 Mag
WST: 45 ACP

If I had to have just one powder, it would be Bullseye. But I like the others too, and WST seems to be cleaner burning in my 45.
