I'm looking for a muzzleloading pistol for my son. He got to shoot a rifle a few weeks ago, but he likes pistols. Anyone know of a hole in the wall store that has them less than say $150? Dixie Gun Works has them, but they want $220 for a Kentucky pistol (which is what I've been looking for).

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

I checked up on this myself, out of curiosity. There are plenty of Philadelphia style derringers under
$ 200.00. The lowest price I saw on a Kentucky flintlock pistol was $ 200.00 made by a manufacturer
called Traditions. It was a nice looking pistol in .50 caliber. I hope your son finds him a black powder
pistol.

Try Cabela's, last time I was there they had a huge selection of revolvers and pistols and even some kits to build your own....

I'm not sure of the price but I have a friend that has a Lyman version of the Kentucky Pistol. Very nicely made.
