My taurus 94 wont lock in to place for single action but shoots fine in double action anybody know what might cause this?
WOW - off hand I can't think of anything in particular except that it might be worth opening the side plate up and trying to see what is/isn't functioning. Perhaps check the trigger return spring? I had trouble with one of my 94's where the trigger return spring would bind and once we trimmed it down a wee bit everything was fine. My other 94 just went back to Taurus 'cause it wouldn't lock or seat like yours but I found out after we opened the side plate that the transfer bar was free floating - which it's not supposed to be - don't know if this could possibly be your problem... There's lots of us with 94's here - keep us informed and I'm sure you'll get some more responses!

Ok did a complete strip down, cleaning and put back together every thing looked normal to me and all the pictures matched the ones I found on this site still same results!
Sounds like you probably better call Taurus Customer Service - (305) 624-1115. If you can, call first thing in the morning so you do have to wait in the phone line - I can't remember if they open at 8 or 8:30...am, but I do believe that they are there until 10 pm, too - maybe try tonight. Have the serial number of your firearm ready. Is your 94 new or new to you? If it's less than a year old and new Taurus will not charge you for shipping to and from. Good luck - keep us informed!

If the trigger spring is compressed fully the gun will not cock. Did you do anything to the springs ? Make sure the bottom spring plate sets down in the recess correctly and the spring is flat to the plate.
I put one small washer under the Wolff M85 trigger spring and it worked fine, but FTF's in DA. I have a 94. I put two washers under spring and it would not cock, spring fully compressed. Took out one washer and trigger would cock. I put the one washer in to increase the spring tension to improve DA. It didn't, so back to the drawing board for me.

Also, the hammer does not travel as far in DA as it does in SA. When you cock, the hammer goes all they way to the rear. In DA the hammer comes within 1/4" of the rear. That's why it will fire DA.

Also, (again), Make sure the bottom spring plate is in the proper position. One edge is sharp , one edge is rounded, the rounded edge goes down and helps the part to seat in the frame recess better. Gives the spring several thousandths more room to compress before being fully compressed. A fully compressed spring may be causing your failure to cock SA.
