Howdy

I just purchased a model 85. Im looking getting a Smartcarry holster( anyone try one?) but i need to measure the barrel.
Do you measure this from the cylinder back which would be 3 inches or from the obvious barrel which would be 2.5 inches. Confused in Minnesota
Thanks in advance

Ok. i measured from the breech to the tip of the barrel and its 3 inches. Most of the model 85's from what im reading are 2 inche barrels. Do I have a rare find!!!!! I envisions millions of dollars?

Yeah, right they made just one longer than normal!!

My Snubby Rossi says it is a 2" However, from the cylinder to the tip it is 2.5, so mine is rare too!

Manufacturers seem to measure from the end of the frame to end of the barrel in most cases.

But my JUDGE, is shown 6 1/2" and that is measured from the cylinder to the tip. So go figure. I see JUDGE's that say they are 3", 4" on the auction sites, and 6.5" so the 3" or 4" could be just depending on who set up the ad for the auction sales. Taurus says they are 3" from all I have read.
