Hi guys, now I'm the one needing some help. I just picked up a Marlin 989M2 Carbine. First question does anybody know where the serial number is located, i have look everywhere and have not been able to find it. Another, I'm looking for some replacement mags whether it be 7, 10, 15 or more. Also a good place to find replacement parts, i got this as a little project to have fun with. Oh one major thing, i need to know where and how to mount a scope on this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Richard

Well you found an old gun I had not heard of in years. For parts you might also try looking for the Model 99 M1 carbine too. Serial number could be under the front upper fore-grip or on the side of the receiver, but to be honest I haven't seen one of these in years so I kind of forget.

Use link below to search for Marlin 9892. Do the manufacture search first then the model search will pop up next and you can select your model then for a long list of goodies. I tried it and found alot of stuff... hope this helps.

Marlin Model 989 was made from 1962-1965 with 24,843 being manufactured, although I know some model variation of it was made up to around late 70's to early 80's.

BRAND CONVERSION:
Glenfield Model 60 Model 60 is the Marlin model 99C
Glenfield Model 65 Model 65 is the Madin model 99M1
Glenfield Model 70 Model 70 is the Madin model 989M2
Glenfield Model 75 Model 75 is the Madin model 989MI
