Mailed off my income taxes and checks today. I really want the Fair Tax to become law. After some friends of mine were the victims of tax fraud I thought of another reason to like the fair tax. I know 2 people who have had fraudulent returns filed. One of them found out because the received a check when they had not filled yet. It seems that the routing numbers that were used had a mistake so the IRS sent a check. The other found out when they tried to file and were told that they had already been given a refund.

I have to file two states (NC and VA) and federal between the 3 I normally come out around even IE refund from VA pays NC

I will mail mine tomorrow, as late as possible. Like the past few years, I have the honor of supporting a couple of illegal's families, pay for hussein and magnolia's vacations and golf, and provide affordable health care and abortions for the freeloaders. And many in Congress won't pay diddley.

'14 was a very good year for deductions for us.

I made out ahead, I think. Not a whole lot. Not even a budget firearm ahead. But got a refund nonetheless.

Should be business as usual, again, next year.

We had to also file in Louisiana again this year to get back state tax withheld on casino winnings.

BUT THE REAL KICKER, I just went out to the mail box to retrieve the mail. The first envelope out of the box was stamped "Important Tax Information Enclosed". It was a corrected statement on an investment we have. I just mailed off my Taxes a few hours ago and now I get to file a correction already. Now I remember why I used to wait until October 15 to file.

I got a note frm the IRS Frida tha they got my return but needed more info, aka they thought it was a fake return.
Well, it was because I hadn't filed. I had to answer some questions and it was scary how much they knew, like the month my brother was born, what vehicles had been registered at my address (my dad's) and a motorcycle I haven't owned in ten years.
They said the original return wouldn't be processed and to send my return to Austin instead of KC.
Yes, I used the IRS website, not one given me.
My boss has been scammed twice-a check was sent andcashed, but there was a forwarding address at the PO to forward the check to a PO box in CO. From there the money went offshore. It's a complete nightmare.

We got back about 1500 this year (and have to pay 2300 from last year because they miscalculated). I talked to them at the IRS and told them since it was their mistake, I would not pay interest on it since they committed fraud, not me. They actually agreed to that (I recorded the conversation and have the letter from them). So my bonus check from work went to pay the IRS off and the refund went to my wife's new ring and my Pietta SAA. (my Pietta and home built AR were still less than her ring so I can buy a few extra things for reloading).

If you have the opportunity, get your taxes done as soon after Jan 31st as you can. We start prepping our itemized deductions the 1st week of Jan and when we get 1099's and W2's we're cranking out our Taxes. We take them over to a family friend/CPA and file electronically.
