I just picked up a 4" model 971, 357mag. It's an Interarms model. The gun is in great shape and locks up tight.
Is there a way to tell when this was made? Serial number is F3793xx.
I love the balance and feel of this revolver. I always liked full underlugged revolvers. I'm looking forward to getting this out to the range.

I found the ( approx ) date of manufacture for my Interarms 720 by accident. I have a "New for 1992" review in a gun magazine to which my serial # was within 1400 of the test gun 720, than a little later there was a 720 on Gunbroker listed by the original owner with dated (1994) receipt and my 720 was way below that ones serial # to which I put mine around 1992-93 model year.
