Maybe those who are inclined to, have the ability, and most and talented enough to do it can probably get away with that.

I admit to not being able to do it. One has to do this slowly and with caution. I'll let the company do the fix rather than try myself. I don't feel like voiding the warranty.

This would voiding the warranty? hmm, what if I would buy an extra part and filed the extra one and kept the factory one the way it is?

It's your gun. Do what you want, but just be warned is all.

I've also seen some cases, not a lot, where someone did work on their own gun and Taurus decided to overlook things. It probably depends on what and how much "work" was done on the gun by the owner.
