Hello from Arkansas, I have a Rossi M68 that was passed down to me and l am trying to get a little background. So far the best I can do is they were manufactured from 1978-85 but was hopeful that I could narrow it a little more.
Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome from central Iowa. You'll find us more like a family than a forum. Great isn't it. We do have a lot of Rossi fans here.

Not much on dating things, but I have a M68 I bought in 1981 and the quality is such that if it didn't have "Rossi" stamped on it, I'd swear it was an older Smith and Wesson 36. Those were fantastic years for Rossi quality.

Welcome, BTW. :D
Welcome from Bastrop, Texas and big Rossi fan
Thank you all for the warm welcome. I am still not having much luck on finding a solid date of manufacture but I thought someone might come along with more knowledge on the matter.

It was my dad's gun so the value to me is far above what it would ever be otherwise but I would like to know more about the gun itself.

To your point it has been around since I was a kid and I have no memory of anything but it going bang whenever it was asked to. I still shoot it and it still performs faithfully. It locks up solid, shoots straight, and reminds me of my dad so I see no reason for change.
