Just got a Shield Plus. Had 2 problems with it and found that they are both common known production problems in most Shields. First was that the takedown lever was nearly impossible to push down. It would stick about the 5 o'clock position. There is roll pin to the left of the takedown lever that is often sticking out just a hair blocking the lever. That pin needs to be driven in flush. It was still difficult to swing down even after fixing the roll pin. Second, after several field strips, the slide suddenly would not come off. It would start to slide forward but then stick hard like it was hitting something inside. Found out that this is caused by the slide lock spring slipping out of the retention groove holding it. Some people fix it themselves but I'd recommend sending it in to make sure it's done right. Hope this helps someone.

I do not own a shield, but have helped 6-7 newbies pick out a new gun and most went with the shield, either the standard, the EZ (most liked that) or the EZ Performance center and I haven't heard any of them complaining about any problems?
The shield fits my hand really well, comes on target naturally and seems to be very fairly priced, i just have to many weapons in that same catergory and haven't purchased a shield.
