I have a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 in 40 S&W uses Glock mags in my go bag. I do not want a Glock, I have had two of them and absolutely found them to be less than desirable. So I am looking for a 40 pistol to go with the Kel-Tec in my go bag. I wanted the Taurus Slim, but my distributor has them on back order and they have been for quite awhile. I am open for suggestions. I looked at the P320C as I have the 9mm one, but they are not so compact. All help greatly appreciated.

There are lots of 40 cal pistols on the surplus market, many are Sig and S&W. IF you like a full size. Check out Classic firearms, Aims surplus, LG guns, there are several sites out there. Just google surplus pistols. SR40C is a great choice and with a little snooping on the internet you can probably find one from high $200 to low $300 range. I believe Taurus has a G2 in 40 as well. One great deal right now is the Canik TP40SA and SF. I am seeing those in the low $300 range, and they are excellent pistols.

In a "go bag" I'd want my rifle and pistol mags to interchange. If you dont like Glocks, get the S&W M&P full size and Sub2 that takes M&P mags.
I have two trade in M&P's, 40 and 45 both great... and cheap.
X2. The Beretta isn't as ergonomic as the S&W M&P. The M&P probably isn't as plentiful for parts in a SHTF situation compared to the Glock or Beretta but I'd still pick it to match your Sub2k.

If you want to stay with the Glock mags, I would suggest a Polymer80 finished Glock frame (has a registered serial number) from Brownells. I don't know why, but they are cheaper than the 80% finished frames and you can get a discount on a package that includes a LPK. The frames have 1911 angle on the grips and the rest of the ergoes are just plain better than a Glock. You can get them in G-22, G-23 and G-27 size frames.

This is my Polymer80 frame (Gray) and my G-23 (Black). Slides are both for G-23 and are interchangeable. The matte silver slide has an AlphaWolf 9mm conversion barrel.

I really appreciate all of the suggestions. That is some "Food For Thought". I did not realize the Sub 2000 came in S&W. In regards to Glock, I had several about 20 years ago and they just did not perform well. But, I WOULS love to have the mags fit both firearms. But, Glock 22.....

Thank you for the advice on the surplus market. I contacted Aim Surplus and ended up buying a Glock 22 so the mags will fit. Since it is in my go bag, after familiarization I probably won't shoot it that often.

ahh IF you feel really, really, really lucky then you might find a CZ Rami or P-01 in 40 short and weak.
the Rami is a sub compact the P-01 is a compact with alloy frame.

I have also have the Ruger SR40c, and and it is a good gun, but I think I actually like the FNS 40 compact better. The SR series Ruger is awesome in 9mm compact, but I think the FN may be a little better in .40 compact.

I did my bug out bag a little different, two well broken in G19's and one AR-9 carbine that uses the same magazines. While I'm not a Glock fan, they do work, and can be made less crappy. If your Kel-Tec is a .40 and uses Glock mags, I'd suggest you give Glock a second look.

The crappy trigger and sights can be fixed.

However, the CZ P07 is available in .40 and a good choice. I currently carry the 9. https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog...-USA/CZ-USA+91187+CZ+P-07+Duty+12+1+40S&W+3.8

I did break down and buy the Glock 22. ONLY because the magazines fit. I did a very careful price analysis over it. and just bit the bullet. Aim Surplus was very quick to ship also. Here they both are ready for the go bag. Need to check the accuracy on Monday of the Glock. Picture won't download.

First I've seen of it, Boheeber. Wonder if there will be a .40 version? I'm glad to see they retained the thumb safety.

The NRA magazine has an advertisement for the gun in it this month.
