I just bought the Taurus 856 Toro in a 3” stainless and put a Riton MPRD 2 red dot on her. Now I’m just trying to find a holster for the gun with the red dot on it. Anyone have any idea what a holster would work with that set up.

I read that stuff's in the works. It looks like Tulster is shipping a holster for 3" Defender. Doesn't look optics compatible out of the box.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye open on that one. Could always cut a slot in the leather.

Have you checked out Houston holsters? They have some decent holsters for a reasonable price. You may want to check them out.

Found a holster that fit perfectly. Found it at Wholeguns. Its a OWB holster IDPA and is made for the Taurus 856 in 2" but my 3" works good, just sticks out a bit on the bottom.

I can't tell for sure but it looks like the dot keeps the gun from seating all the way in the holster. If it doesn't seat completely the retention will be off.

I'm sure the holster wasn't made for revolver with a optic but it sure fits good and snug. I looked everywhere for a holster for this set-up and couldn't find a one and so you go with one that works.

I understand. Liking semi odd ball guns is what led me to making my own holsters. Your kydex holster would be easy to trim if the optic is hitting and you wanted to make it fit a bit better.

Yes, I thought about taking the Dremel to it already

Run the dremel on a low speed if you do or you will melt the kydex. I would also recommend making a plan it's really easy to get carried away when removing material.
