Looking for long term ownership reviews of the M44 4” 6 round. I’m going to buy one and want to see how they hold up.
Thank you

I've had one for over 3 years and it holds up well. Never had an issue with it. Make sure you clean the barrel ports well after shooting, assuming you've got a stainless one. If you don't, the end of the barrel can start to look dingey after a while.

Thank you. I plan on using 240 grain factory ammo.

I've owned two 44 trackers, both ran fine. Also a Raging Bull ( it was an oldy and I had to do a bit of gunsmithing to it) but it ran fine afterwards as well. I moved up to a couple of Redhawks for 44 fun for now. My only caveat for you is to keep your M44 away from hot 44 loads, save those for Ruger's. I was comfortable running 240's at 1250 FPS in my tracker all day. But I save my faster and heavier loads for the Redhawks.

So did I when I bought mine. But it's actually the round that got me to start reloading because it was so much cheaper and I was able to load the types of rounds I wanted to shoot. Due to the range I belong to I shoot a lot more .44 spl than .44 mag.
Some background if anyone is interested. I have a S&W 629 Classic with a 5” barrel and full underlug. I want to cut it down to 4” and ported. No luck in finding a gunsmith to do the work. Either won’t do it, want $800 to do it or backlogged 12 months or more.
The Taurus M44 looks exactly like what I want to end up with and it’s not expensive. I like that it weighs 45oz also for recoil. I ordered one yesterday.
