I live in NC and need to know if I can open carry my gun into VA. I won't have it on me all the time I just want to carry it up to Bobs Guns and use the range there. Thanks Wayne.

And when you want to further check for reciprocity between different states,
check out handgunlaw.us. They have lots of info on that.

Hey hfd315, I currently live, and am stationed in the Norfolk, VA area. Here is some more helpful information for you. You are allowed to open carry in the Commonwealth of Virginia. In order to CC in the Commonwealth, you must have obtained your CHP from the State of North Carolina. If you get caught carrying a concealed weapon in the Commonwealth without a proper permit, you will be arrested and charged with a Class 1 misdemeanor under VA Code 18.2-308. You could face up to a year in jail if convicted.

VA has a reciprocity agreement with NC. You can conceal here as well if you have a permit. Open carry is always an option as well.
