LCP one or II vs. LCP max felt recoil question

This question is specifically for anyone who has shot or owned both guns. Does the larger grip of the max reduce
felt recoil at all compared to the LCP or LCP 2? All the reviews of the max say it's snappy, but is it any less snappy than the other 2 versions?

I’ve owned the LCP II and currently have the LCP Max. The max is, by far, the better shooter. Trigger feels about the same but the ergonomics of the gun (with the 12rd mag) allow me a full grip, less snappy and still can pocket carry with ease. That being said, the max is stil snappy. But for the platform, it’s amazing. I have a hogue on mine and pocket carry it a lot. I read about some improved triggers for the max that I’m interested in. I think a 5-6lb trigger on that would be perfect

A longer grip will reduce felt recoil. Getting a pinky on there helps to lessen the muzzle flip.

Ruger LCP Max 380 is good enough for 7-10 yard accuracy ,Not a Tack Driver and recoil is much better than my Glock 43X . My Taurus G3C even though just a tad bigger than the firearms mentioned is my go to firearm for everyday carry .

I've got the Hellcat and an LCP Max. Love both. I typically carry the Hellcat in an IWB 90% of the time. The LCP comes with me when I'm needing something a little smaller that fits in a pocket. To me, the slightly wider grip of the Max makes it a lot more comfortable to hold compared to the standard LCP. Reliability and accuracy have been top notch. The trigger's not a 1911 but plenty good enough for the gun's intended purpose. I've experienced much worse on full size gun that cost much more.

I fired a friends LCP one the other day, and the felt recoil felt slightly worse than my compact 45, even with a hogue grip wrapped around the grip of the LCP. (my 45 does have pachmyer grips though) He painted the front sight red. My first two shots at a measured 10 yards was right on the point of aim and the 2 holes were almost touching, :) but I had to pull the trigger very slowly, maybe 1.5 2 seconds per shot (?) :( The third shot was also fine left to right but 8 inches low. I think it was me reacting to the snappiness of the pistol. I wanted to do more shooting with it but he only brought a partial box and used all but the last 3, which is fine because it's his carry gun and he hasn't practiced with it in a long time. I didn't have any .380 ammo. Even with the finger extension on the 6 rd mag I could only get 2 fingers on the grip. Although I also could get 2 fingers on the grip of a .25 auto he inherited, there is almost no recoil.

My carry guns are the compact 45 and the G2C, and his LCP 1 is a lot bigger than just a tad. I can pocket carry my G2c in my winter coat because it has huge pockets, but then I can also pocket carry my 45 with a 3.9" barrel. I can't put either one in the back or front pocket of my jeans like he can with his LCP one.

He's thinking of getting a max, due to a mem day sale, and I'm considering it myself, or at least put one on layaway. Normally I'd recommend he rent one but the only range in the area that has a max as a range rental, would cost him $62-$67 if he has to buy their ammo, $37 if he's allowed to use his own ammo. The one on sale only has one 10 round mag.

His last six shots of his practice were at 50 feet, and his group was about 8", and the center of the group was 4" left of the aiming point. but not high or low. Like me though he had to pull the trigger very slowly to do it.

I’ve owned the original LCP and the LCP2
Yeah they’re a little snappy but overall not bad . Kinda like a J frame on standard pressure.38 spl . My wife doesn’t like them so I bought her the .22 version… that she carries. I imagine the max might offer some difference but I don’t think it would be much. Just my opinion.

My wife wanted a smaller carry gun than the Ruger SP101 .357 that she has had for years.

We got her a Ruger LCP to carry.

She was shocked that it "kicked" harder than the SP101.

I even found it less than pleasant to shoot.

But, I do love how it disappears in my front pants pocket and can be carried in a nice pocket holster that obscures its lines so easily.

When we went to the beach recently, I carried it in the front pocket of my Khaki shorts. No one was the wiser.

And, while it is not my 1st choice to carry most of the time, it does fit the bill quite often.
