I have a new 24/7 Pro in .40S&W. With mine I had multiple failures to feed always with the last round. The slide would retract out of battery, the last round sat in the clip, then I'd click the slide release to go back into battery. What I found was mold flash around the orange magazine follower. Removing that seems to help but I can't verify until the next range shoot. I can fill the mags full and manually move the slide as fast as I can and all rounds chambered.

Has anyone encountered this? I called Taurus and the person said to mail them the magazines and they'd look at it. That leaves me me a functionless gun. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I had this happen to my neighbors WWII M1A1, the last one or two .30 carbine would not chamber... magazine spring was just old and needed new magazine... so I imagine just a replace of magazine would solve this issue... that's unless the problem is somewhere in the slide, if something is out of alignment the round could be wedging itself between a non moving part and the slide, which I have seen before also... that you would have to RMA to Taurus and have them fix it...

Bend the end of the mag spring where it meets the orange part a little more than it already is. This will tilt the orange part a little more forward so that little tab won't hit the slide release until it's empty. Put an empty mag in your gun and see the part that touches the release. I made it so that tab is even with the metal mag. It did stick up about 1/8 of an inch and I had the same problem. Use some needle noses and just bend the end part just a little more. You really need 2 pairs of pliers because it's pretty hard to bend.

Hi guys,

I got my 24/7 Pro DS this week and put 100 rounds (Remington 115gn) through it at the range today. I had this same problem happen after a couple of clips and I was hoping someone could post some pics explaining exactly what to do. Other than this last round feed problem, it seemed to work pretty well.

Thanks in advance,
Sam

I had the exact same issue with one of my new PT111 Pro 12 rnd mag. The last cartridge wasn't riding flush to the top of the mag making the cartridge ride too low for the slide to catch.  Seems like it's a spring tension issue or the fit of the follower.  I disassembled, cleaned and lubed the mag but this didn't help.   I too phone Taurus support and they told me to just mail it in for a replacement which I did a couple of days ago.  I have 3 other mags that work fine.  I guess we just got a lemon.  :-\

Just as a follow up I received my new replacement PT111 12rnd magazine from Taurus (Miami). The last cartridge seats properly with this one. Only took about 2 weeks to receive the new replacement mag from Taurus... count me impressed!

i dissassembled and put the mag into the frame without the slide to observe. with one round in the mag the follower already pushes up the slide catch mechanism. looks like the follower is either too high or the mag release thing that holds the mag isnt holding my mags properly - i got three and the behavior is the same on all of them.

its bothersome on the last roung but the rest feed without fail. i wish someone from taurus replied in this forum about this.
