So the quest to find the very last AR magazine for sale in the world continues....

Today while shopping for ammo at a local gun shop I was stunned to see a pile of brand new metal AR mags on the shelf. They just got them in within the past few hours. At $25 each I figured it was a good deal (by todays prices, not a month ago). Well I see it is one I never heard of, a ASC, New Britain CT. Don't know anything about them. I thought it was a typical aluminum mag the I see the "SS" on the side. I do some research and I find it is actually stainless steel, I didn't realize it because of the black phosphate finish. Seems like a good mag, I'll try to get another tomorrow if they are not sold out. So how good is this make of mag?

I understand they are formerly C-Products and that they make good magazines with anti-tilt followers. Don't use them myself. Maybe someone here does.

I have a bunch of their aluminum mags from when they were C-Products. I like the followers they work well and I would even use them (if I got a good price) if I were rebuilding my GI mags. I have not heard anything negative about the SS mags.

Well I just bought another ASC mag. So now I have a mated pair that I hope I can breed. By the way, I was just up at Riley's, Hooksett NH, they have about 4 or 5 dozen new Korean made AR steel mags in brown wrapping going for $25.95 each, limit 5 per customer (and that's the only hi-cap AR mags they have. And no 223/5.56 ammo whatsoever).

Wow, I wondered what happened to C-Products. Good mags mostly. Had a couple problem with some, but nothing that a Dremel couldn't fix.

have a mess of the C-products mags and have never had a failure.


Shop I work at had 200 30round Thermold mags in this morning, $15.99, limit 10 per person. They lasted about 10 minutes.
