After two weeks of running around trying to find a g2c .45 "on the ground", I gave up today, and ordered it through the CTD store in Fort Worth. It should be here in a couple of days. Then I will give it a good cleaning, and go run some rounds through it out at the farm next weekend. This will replace a Colt Delta Elite 10mm as my ccw, so I will need to do some searching, and find a good holster for it.
Thanks to all the members of this board for the excellent information they have shared. I hope to return the favor once I get mine.
Tom

Fear not! I have ordered guns online from CTD and had them delivered to the McKinney store and it usually only takes 2-3 days. Did you check with McKinney? They had a pretty good selection of G2's every time I've been in there. Congrats on your new gun and I hope you like it.

Hey Slakev, you stole my line!! :D Congrats, Tom!! Even though mine has been on vacation, I'm sure it is a fine gun, and Taurus is making it right. I'm even thinking about getting the full size to go with my compact. You will be glad you got yours too, and I highly recommend the Theis IWB holster for it. Be sure to give us a range report.

Thanks guys. I did in fact talk to CTD McKinney. Really nice guy on the phone, but they did not have ANY G2's in stock in .40 or .45, full size or compact. They were also willing to order it for me, but it would have cost me $50 just in diesel to then go get it, so I talked to the manager at CTD Fort Worth today. The whole deal with the CTD stores being separate from each other, and from the website, is just bizarre, and very confusing for customers. Hopefully mine will get here quickly. In the meantime I will go look at the Theis holster. Getting pumped! We got my son a g2c in .40 last week, and he LOVES his - no problems whatsoever.

CTD just called. My gun came in after only two days! I just went and picked it up. Looks really good, except for that dreaded packing grease. I will get it cleaned up tonight, and then plan on running some rounds through it this weekend out at the farm. Yee-hah!

RANGE REPORT! So, I got to take it to the Farm today. First 5 shots out of the box dead-center red zone from 7 yds. Ran first box of 50 alternating 5 shot groups from both 12 shot and 10 shot clips. No problems whatsoever. VERY pleased with the accuracy. Recoil not too bad considering I was coming from a Colt Delta Elite 10mm. Second box of 50 I tried loading both clips to max capacity. NO problems with the 12 round mag, but I had 2 stove-pipes with the smaller 10 round clip, when it tried to feed a new round before the spent round ejected. After clearing, emptied the mag fine. I am thinking it is a spring issue. I will try to work on that tomorrow. Other than that, I am very happy with the gun!.

 Congrats!! Glad to hear the happy news!! By any chance, did you notice if your trigger reset to DA from SA when you changed mags?? I sent mine to Miami because mine did. My 92 & 917 don't, so this doesn't seem right but, the enclosed note said 'nothing wrong'. Thanks

You just taught me something new :)

I did not know that there was a CTD in McKinney; I had always gone with my youngest daughter (a Dallas area police officer) to the one almost to Ft. Worth.

I will now have to add the McKinney CTD to my pilgrimage the next time I visit my kids in the Plano/Richardson area. On my "must visit list" is Fry's (either Plano or Garland), CompUSA (Collin Creek Mall), MEI Micro (on 75), Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's new store in Allen, and GT Distributors in Dallas at the southern edge of Garland.

I worked in Richardson in the early 70's when there was almost nothing there, and my 2 Dallas area daughters are both UT-D graduates. A LOT different now than 40 years ago!
