Just an observation on trigger safety repair; as of 02/08/2018. As we all know there are plenty of examples where trigger safeties have broken off in normal usages. About 300 rounds in my G2 develop hairline fractures, so I sent it in for repair. Took about 10 weeks and here's what I got back...

I can't say I'm %100 sure but the repaired safety seems slightly thicker than the original. Comparing with my original (blurry) pic and various pics on google there a difference at the top of the safety, where my original had a rounded edge at the top. My original and several google pics seem thinner in comparison. Again it subtle but I think there more material in the 'neck' area, right before the bulb at the end. Just sharing this with you guys and I don't frequent this forum so I won't be updating this post often, if at all. Good luck with your G2s, I may even keep mines now.

So I happen to have two G2s. And being as anal retentive as I am (LOL), I had to pull them both out and compare. My stainless G2, I bought new just a couple of weeks ago, and the one I bought "used" (an all black model) from a member on this board. The older one starts with serial number TKSxxxxx, and the newer one starts with TKUxxxxx. I can confirm that the trigger safeties are indeed DIFFERENT. My newer stainless model looks exactly like your pic here. More squared off, and it definitely protrudes more than on my other G2. The older G2's trigger safety is more rounded at the top, and "appears" to be slightly more recessed into the trigger at the top. There is also a very NOTABLE difference in "thickness" (fore and aft) of the trigger safety between my two G2s. So, yes, there was indeed either a part number roll, or a part revision somewhere recently.......thanks for pointing this out to us fellow G2 owners!!

Edit to add pics of mine. The new one has the stainless slide. The older one has the black slide:
