So myself, wife and brother-in-law went for a shoot the weekend again with the 92 and his Remington 1911. Previously my wife battled to keep control of the 92 as she is small and has small hands and we all know the 92 doesnt have a small frame. I was concerned with the Pachmayrs being bigger but figured when purchasing, that its my grip that matters most as her 809c will hopefully be processed soon.

So...the shoot...

She had a consistent group of no more than 5" at 10' and had a blast. The finger grooves added the world of control for her. Let me also add she has only ever fired no more than 30 rounds.

I loved the gun more than ever myself. New sight picture, new grips = Like a new firearm!

Best shoot I've ever had with a handgun!:D

I've been seeing a lot of threads about the 92 lately, pretty popular!
Are you beginning to get the "itch" for one yet? :icon_ poke::icon_ poke:

I read an article recently (but I can't remember where, I may have linked to it from this forum) that compaired the PT92 to the Beretta 92/m9. The author gave overall better marks to the Taurus, mainly due to the decocker position on the frame and cost. The only real criticism of the PT92 were due to the magazines.

Anyway I scratched my itch 4 or so years ago.

I need to start contacting Academy about getting a store in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Their prices compared to a lot of places around here are downright amazing.

They truly are a massive improvement. I don't regret them for a second!

It really is a blessing that my wife can join in. You gents must understand, when we were still dating she was so afraid of firearms I had to put it away in her room upon arrival if she spotted it or even my holster. To now being a pretty good shot and enjoying it

Anyone know if Academy ship abroad? I had to order grips from the Lyman online store. Couldn't get them any other way. Could have had my local gun shop order them, at probably double the price and double the wait

Definite congrats on getting the wife into the sport!

I too have the 92 with pachmayr grips on it. It was a little large for me, but the fiancee just DIED over it. It has now become "her" 9mm and I'm working on buying me another one lol. I do kinda have little girly hands I guess...

IMO it is unjustified as they are fine firearms and rated up there in all test that are not brand/name driven and unbiased. But then again i havent put 25000 rounds through it and thats where "they say" things may be different.
