Is a PT140 the same as a PT145 internally?

I have a PT145 3rd gen Mill Pro that had the trigger transfer bar/safety bar break.
Is the trigger tb/safety bar the same in the PT140 that is in the PT145?
I am sure the Pt111 is different.

I called taurus and they won't send me one, but want me to send them my gun, which I rather not. I have more than a few buddies that had sent their Taurus guns back for repair
only to get it back with no work done, bs notes about fixes and also taking 5-6 months to get it back in the first place.

Just so everyone is on the same page, I scanned in the Exploded View / parts-list I got with my PT140 Pro, are you talking about the "trigger bar"

I know some parts are slightly different, as I have 2 - PT140Pro's (a Gen2 -&- a Gen3) & the Captive Recoil Spring in the Gen3 is Quite a but Larger than the one in the Gen2, but no "note" is made of it in the Parts/List ?? So ?? I hope this helps Someone who knows a Bit more than I do...

I have a PT 145, but am not a gunsmith nor have I detail stripped the fire control group in the frame. I do know that most information on lengthy repair times are largely ancient history and that most reports over the last year indicate a 4-6 week turnaround time.

Yeah that is the part in that picture. The top rear piece above the word 'BAR' has literally broken off. The gun has about 500 rounds through it.
When looking at the metal composition, it looks like crappy pot metal from china.

I guess I'll have to take my chances with Taurus' customer service. Oh well.

I would venture to say there is a great deal of commonality within the fire control components, both for cost as well as manufacturing/assembly ease. Also, the PT111, PT140 and PT145f rames are virtually identical in size and configuration (minus the slide, barrels and recoil springs).

Taurus manufactures most all of their parts for their pistols in Brazil in a state of the art facility.

There are excellent videos on their manufacturing and a good write up on their USA facility in Miami, FL where they are also manufacturing parts and assembling pistols. You may look at these while also reading the forum guidelines on bashing products and manufacturers of any type of firearm. This one is closed.
