I own several handguns, including (2) 24/7 Taurus, and I picked this one up at my local gun dealer today. It's a Taurus PT908. It's in complete mint condition and has never been fired. I just loved the look of it, and was looking for a 9mm, as my 24/7 9mm was stolen from my truck last year and never replaced it when I got my insurance check... mainly because my deductible was $250, so I didn't even get enough to buy a new gun.... Anyhow.. what can you tell me about this gun? Did I get a good deal? I paid $350 for it.... the guns pretty solid, and there isn't a scuff, scratch, or anything on it.. you can def. tell its basically brand new.. Barrel is 4". Has an 8rd clip. Thanks for your help in advance!

A fine firearm for certain. I prefer the PT-909 as it holds more rounds but nonetheless, the PT-908 is still a shooter.

From looking at the pic and reading your description, I'd say you got one fine deal on that beauty. Congrats! :thumb:

Very Nice! I have a Blued version. The Taurus PT908 was made back in the early 1990's till it was replaced by the PT911, which uses a very similar Slide Assembly and a different Frame which has a Double Stack Magazine design with 10 or 15 round Magazines. The PT909 uses that same similar Slide Assembly and a Frame directly derived from the PT92.

My PT908 has been reliable and accurate. However, since my 9mm 24/7 Pro came home, my PT908 has been sort of a safe queen. The DA and SA Trigger pulls on mine are sweet! The PT908 does make for a nice flat concealable package.

The price you paid on yours indicates that PT908's have been, and are, somewhat collectible.
For a NIB PT908, $350 is quite fair.

Thanks for the input. I was a little uncertain if it was a good deal or not, but I figure for a non-fired mint condition gun that looks sweet, $350 was a good price. Didn't really have any knowledge on it, but I did get it to carry/conceal, and my other Taurus guns have always been reliable. Glad it seems like a smart purchase.

Got one myself but I like the looks of yours,michalchik1!! Very nice!! Fine looking example!

Also dig jwc007's as well. :)

Magazines for them can be hard to find that are not Pro-MAgs, but they are out there.

Pachmayr made a run of Stainless Steel PT908 Magazines that are very very desirable and can occasionally be found on Gunbroker.

Taurus still lists them. They have the 10 round models. Taurus International Manufacturing Inc I found three O.E.M. and one Pachmayr on line, all 8 rounds each. One O.E.M. and the Pachmayr are still in their blister packs, new. Although I have a blue gun, the Pachmayr is stainless steel.
If you really need one, I'll sell you the Pachmayr. ( The wrapper says, "Pachmayr Match-Grade, Stainless Steel")
P.M. me if you want it.

Follow up. There are some on Gun Broker. Search: Gun Parts, Pistols, Magazines, then enter Taurus PT-908.

I feel you will be very impressed with this little piece. All of the 900 series are great in their own right. And being discontinued your not going to run across one every day.

Anyone looking for a PT909 or PT911 both in stainless, Robertson Trading Post in Henderson, TN has a few NIB they are selling on the GunsAmerica Website. They are going for between $369 - $379. I just purchased one of the PT911s. I can't wait till it gets here (should be here by this Friday). I plan on making it my primary CCW piece over my FNP 40.
