If anyone has one of the new springs with the washer on the end is it longer than the original as well? I ordered one for my PT140 PRO even though I had no failure, I figured better safe than sorry. When installed it sticks out in front of the slide to the point that when looking at the side of the firearm you can see the gap between the button on the end of the guide rod and the slide. Is this how they fixed the button breaking problem, by keeping the slide from hitting it? The part they sent me is item number 36100811with the description of "recoil spring assy xtra diam mod p. Does anyone know if this is the correct assembly for the PT140 PRO? Thanks in advance for any help.

No I don't think I have the correct part, that is why I am asking. I remember a post somewhere about the end popping off of the rod and wondered if they made it longer to keep the slide from contacting it. This just seemed way to long.
I just called them and the answer is to send the part back and they will send me the correct one I should of got the first time. Might have to move this to Taurus complaints

They got it to me fast as well. To bad it was the wrong one. I now know how they come apart and what size washer it takes. My original spring now has the washer from the wrong one on it.
The washer is .512" outside diameter, .408" inside diameter and .04" thick. The section of the guide rod assembly that rest in the pocket of the frame (the metal end) screws out of the plastic guide rod. I used a small vice with rubber jaws to hold the plastic button on the slide end and used a small pair of pliers to unscrew the metal end as I held the spring back with my fingers. If you do this BE CAREFUL! as the spring is under pressure blah blah blah........ put it back together in reverse order. Use some locktite on the threads(I used the green kind). Hope this is clear.
