ILLinois Expands Gun Grabbing Efforts- Today

The "pre-emption" that I've written about before passed in 2013 with the concealed carry bill which restricted communities from enacting bans willy nilly at any time for any long gun that they hate has a roll back just included in the Gun Dealer Licensing Bill. That last bill was vetoed by the governor a week ago and the Leftists are attempting an override.

Deerfield had passed an ordinance last week to amend their prior storage ordinance to include an outright ban on Modern Sporting Rifles and large cap mags and Northbrook IL which had no prior ordinance is trying to pass a ban.

Conceivably, if you live in a community which permits such firearms, but are surrounded by those who do not you could be a criminal if you attempt to transport your guns out of your home.

The disease grows.

Not rubbing it in but I'm so glad I got out of that state back when I did. And I wasn't even a gun owner back then.

Well, I gotta say that the SCOTUS’ refusal to hear that case, along with other cases pertaining to gun rights, certainly doesn’t help ANYONE - Illinoisans included! There are a lot of cases pending SCOTUS hearing and ruling that could be considered statutory law and settled instantly in the “May Issue” states and local municipalities infringing on firearms rights if SCOTUS would just hear them.

And, yeah, there are a lot of topics - other than gun rights/2A - that deserve their time in front of SCOTUS. I’ll concede that . . . but, with the increasing divide in our country’s populace over gun rights, AR bans, etc that just settling a lot of these issues with just one more SCOTUS ruling (be it in favor of or against gun rights) could calm the fires of bitterness between citizens. But SCOTUS has to hear the case to make a ruling.

Wonder if their refusing to hear the cases has anything to do with current politics or even the mid-terms coming up later this year . . .???

The latest attempt by the gun grabbing Communists in this Godforsaken state are as follows:

An amendment to the FOID law which would allow any municipality the ability to ban any firearm that they so desire. This in in again direct contravention of the Concealed Carry law which allowed them two weeks to figure out what they wanted to ban and then cease. Now a legal citizen in their community could be made into a criminal by transiting a Socialist area. Gun banning by geography.

The one that surfaced today would limit an ILLinois citizen to ONE handgun purchase per month. Obviously a bald faced attempt to hurt small gun shops again and makes absolutely -0- sense.
