Illegal gun sales busted

Isn't that one of those loopholes people are always howling about?

see they should have sold them through a Gun show and they would have been fine, you know there is no back ground checks or paperwork to fill out!
just goes to show you that no matter how many laws that are passed only the honest are going to abide by them.
IF I was one of those cops I would plead that I was under cover for the fast and Furious Holder/ Obama program.

You mean people in power to uphold the law are breaking it?? Well, we need to push for more laws that won't be upheld as that's the only way to stop bad people from doing bad things right?

LOL! Right and then say "Oh I didn't know that program ended because I was under deep cover"!

You've got to remember it's commiefornia. They could have just been selling guns that were not on the approved list. That is what it sounds like since it says they were selling guns that could only be bought by law enforcement.

That's EXACTLY what they were doing - and as I understand it that is illegal.

My understanding is that it is legal for "exempt" persons - such as LEOs - to buy guns that aren't included in the approved list, but it is not legal for them to buy the for the express purpose of resale to other non-LEOs - who aren't eligible to purchase them legally. It is also illegal to knowingly participate in a straw-purchase, which is something they are also being charged with.

But, of course, only LEOs and the military should be allowed to own guns, right? That's what the most radical ant-gun types tell us. Reminds me of the research that shows CCW holders actually commit less crime than LEOs....

You just can't fix stupid.

And they would probably get off scot free, too.

This doesn't surprise me from commieforniastan cops, there were two years ago that were drunk and shooting freeway signs on I-110.

As I tell many of my friends-- just because someone is a police officer, a teacher, a fire fighter, a pastor, attorney don't think they are all pure.
they are a cross representation of the general field of applicants from the community just like the mechanic, the store clerk, the executive.
some certainly are weeded out by back ground checks, etc , but some do get through and some change with time.
some of the worst drug addicted and alcoholics that I have been around were public safety.
they eventually got canned but it took a while for many.

Good thing to remember right there. It is so very true.

Here's a question for ya. If the state government can pick and choose what laws to obey, why shouldn't the cops? Why shouldn't the "people"?

well honestly I think that all of us do that!
like so no one goes like 5 MPH over the speed limit?
has no one ever made a left turn regardless of the sign?
do we reach over the item in front to get the one just behind because we think it may be fresher?
have we never carried a gun where the sign says Forbidden?
No one has ever really came to a full stop at a stop sign?
I know as a Fire Inspector I often ignored useless regulations that did not effect public safety.
some laws are just idiotic, but I agree in actuality they should be enforced and followed until changed.

I have family members in law enforcement and in the bar. They all say that's true, especially if you enforce them in the areas that the elected officials live in.
