But down in the listing he says the gun is sold pending funds, so something else must be going on since the auction is still open. But it made me spit coffee....

Overheard at the range:

Shooter 1 - “How much is your gun worth?”

Shooter 2 - “It’s worth whatever I can get for it.”

S1 - “How much do you think you can get for it?”

S2 - “Hopefully, a lot more than it’s worth.”

I see that on ebay from time to time, even Amazon. Makes me think it's easier to leave the listing up and make the price outrageous so nobody bids than to take it down and realist if something falls through.

Definitely spit-take worthy.

I saw that on GB, also. I think a 638 just sold for $369 a few days ago. Also, a 138 sold for about that much too. The price of used guns has gone up considerably.
I see one PT638 stainless that sold for $311. One fixed price listing was just now posted for $375. More than I want to pay for a second one. I paid $300 for the first, new, years ago. I also see a magazine went for $50!!!

Methinks the seller has lost his mind.

I'm guessing someone put peyote in his coffee. Look at the prices for his other auctions.

Sounds like his wife told him to sell the gun, so he's trying to sell the gun.

He's not trying real hard, but he is trying.

I'll bet his wife thinks he's very trying.

Hence, her attempt to make him sell his gun.
And she has plans for the money. A down payment for an attorney!

While I would not mind having a PT638 .380, not at that price! The sellers other auctions are also outrageously priced.

A lot of sellers use a ridiculous price offer as advertising. Never sells, never pays a fee. Gets business from his other items.

I think maybe he's overpricing it in his retail store, then using the ridiculous pricing on gunbroker as "proof" it's a deal.
