Like most Forum members anxious to boost their post count I would religiously welcome new members
to our midst. Since I got my star, (and if I never get the second one- pffft...), I have failed to say hello.

That is somewhat inexcusable, and I am sorry to have been so complacent.

So rather than clogging up the "Active Topics" page with a bunch of "Welcome To The Forum" posts,
(which is a minor rant of mine, BTW), let me just say "Hi- Welcome aboard- Buckle up- Join the fray."

This place is pretty cool...

I'm guilty of the same. Nothing to do with post count, I just don't get the time on here I used to so if there are already dozens of greets posted by the time I see it, I'll usually go in and give the intro a Like but I don't post.

I started posting a welcoming meme in the new member forum about 2 weeks ago
every time a new person posted their arrival. I never posted in there before.
However I made no excuses. I told them I was responding to welcome them to
the forum and to up my post count.
If I'd done that since I was first here I would have 87,342 posts and I would be
King of the Universe and you would all be my slaves.
Which reminds me, someone bring me a beer...............ingrates............:p

Well stated. And welcome to the General ranks! The TA General's Thursday night poker game is held the third Thursday of each month. It's a round-robin affair as to location, usually decided during the latest game. The host gets to choose the kind of poker and the pot limit.

I don't ever think about post count. I do have a welcome meme with my state flag I use for all newcomers. I do that because I still remember how impressed I was when I joined with the large number of kind welcomes I received. It made me feel...well...Welcome!

Also when someone's first post is not a hello but a question, I try to respond to it in some way. I see a number of first post questions asked with a long string of friendly welcomes behind it but it feels rude to me to completely ignore it.

When someone's first post is a question I post my welcome meme.
Then in another post I answer their question.
Then with any luck they will respond and then I will add another reply.

So, I've welcomed someone and have 2 or 3 new posts to add to my count.
You have to plan ahead with these things.........:p

Well, I do feel bad, and to cheer me up I think you should send me a thoughtful greeting card. The ones where the $50. bill shows through the front are nice...
