I'm cheap. Bought 1lb HP-38 and 100 Hornady 115gr XTP 9mm and 100 CCI 500 primers today.
Powder is $5 cheaper than HS-6.
Again, load data is hard to find, but looks to be 4.4gr or 4.6gr with max at 5.1gr.
Problem is I can't find the OAL.

Being really cheap.
Anyone have the Sierra Reloading Manual?

every thing I could find show oal =1.125" but did find a few at 1.142"

That's what I found, and that's what is on the powder label for a Spr. GDHP.
I'm guessing that is a Speer bullet, but what is GDHP?
HP is hollow point, but GD?

GDHP= Gold Dot Hollow Point. I use 1.135 when in doubt. Been working quite well. Lyman 49th says 4.7 to 5.1 with 1.125 oal for the Speer GDHP.

I thought maybe that was what it meant.
Anyway, going with 4.6gr and 1.125" OAL as on the powder label.
That seats half the base length before the taper.
After I get the first 50 loaded I'll take a few and see how the shoot.

The complete reloading manual for the 9mm luger lists the load of 4.1gr min to 4.7 max for win 231 powder for the #35540 115gr hp-xtp bullet with C.O.L. :1.075 they say the hp38 and win231 are the same But who knows.

Nobody agrees on what it should be.
The label say 5.1gr max, start 10% below that which is 4.6gr.
So that's what I'm doing.
Also using the OAL of 1.125"
Too late to shoot today, so I try them tomorrow.
I understand what you listed, for a shorter OAL use less powder to keep the pressure within limits.
Maybe the next 50 I'll try that.
First I'm going to see if the longer OAL feeds and cycles.

Alrighty, then.
Tested the new reloads.
Bench rest with sandbags at 15 yards.
10 rounds each load.
Black circles are the 4.4gr. HP-38 with Hornady 115gr. 9mm XTP at OAL 1.075".
Other holes are 4.6gr. HP-38 same bullet same OAL.
Looks to need slight sight adjustment, shooting right (went to far with last adjustment, was shooting left)

4.4gr don't work so well, stovepipes a lot.
4.6gr no problems.
