Well you did get stainless, mine is the standard Blue, which wears off a bit more easily. But even with the rub off I love it too.

PT111 MP 3rd Used w/ 2 mags, case, brush, etc. Like New was $215 +$20 ship & $10 transfer
for $245 total. Didn't like it so I sold it for $275.

PT145 MP 3rd Also used w/ same equip. - 98% condition - $245 +$15 ship & $10 transfer
for $270 total.

I feel good about both prices as they were both hardly used.

I paid $349 plus tax for my factory new SS PT145 at my local gun shop last November. At that time I felt it was a fair price. Others locally were selling it for more. I could have saved maybe $25 online, but for $25 I prefer to support my local shop.

So, Joe Sixpack, what are you thinking of all this?

I'm getting the impression that I overpaid ($379 for a PT111 SS12) - but I'm OK with it.

It's my first gun, I got it from one of the biggest, most reputable places in Houston (Carter's Country) & I think I got a great gun!

I've probably shot 600+ rounds thru it since I got it on Jan 31, & I've had -no- problems, maybe one or 2 'misfires' (but the double-action re-shoot capability took care of them!) & -one- of what I guess is known as a 'stovepipe'.

I could've paid a little less at "Republic Arms" & at a pawn-shop a friend manages ( new guns ), but I decided to go with the solid reputation of the bigger, known store. Just my personal decision.

I plan to get my carry permit soon, I just want to make sure I'm good & ready to take that step.
I don't think I am yet.
I'm gettin' there...

well i just wanted to get a feel for what others paid..

im wanting to pay 275nib for a stainless.. i will not pay more then 300 period.. the local shops have them for 330 stainless.

im really just wanting it for carry so used is not a big deal, i can take some scratches and dents.. if i can get a used one for about 200 i'll go with that..

im open to a blue one too.. i put bid on one on GB lightly used 3rd gen blue.

a gun show is coming up next month i'll see if i can jew some venders down.

sounds like 275 might be a push but not impossible.

if i knew a friend or someone with a used one for sell i'd already have one.

275 NIB will be a push for a stainless. Like you said, best bet is at the gun show.

ah smart thinking.. so i should actually show up late to snag a deal..

the next gun show is sat/sun i'd rather go sat but if the GB auction falls threw i might take that advice..

i'll settle for a blue but i'd much rather have a stainless.
