I have a new 24/7 OSS .45 acp pistol and for a self defense round I picked up a 20rd box of Hornady TAP FPD .45 acp 230 gr. jacketed hollow points ammo.

I have not shot any yet, and I'm wondering if I should. It's actually a +P load, and I missed that fact when I bought them.

The Taurus OSS manual shows recommended loads with muzzle velocities of 835 fps, but these shells are rated at 950 fps muzzle velocity.

Should I be using this Hornady ammo? Is this pistol suitable for +P loads?

Your pistol will be fine using the load you have listed. Your 24/7 OSS is +P rated according to Taurus Int'l.

I've noticed that as well in the past hour or so....possibly routine maintenance.

Yep, it was my understanding that every Taurus firearm except for the 856 with the magnesium frame was +p rated. By the way, I have some of the TAP ammo in .40 and it is a great loading. It should work well for you.
