I'm assuming that the size is comparable enough to the previous Mil pro that holster size would be the same? Size recommendation for Uncle Mike's or blackhawk cheap nylon holster? My local range requires a holster for all handguns and Saturday won't get here soon enough, considering I just bought the pistol today!

Thanks.

Molded leather or Kydex probably not due to change in trigger guard shorter due to rail addition on G2, but nylon will work as envelope basically same as G1.

So Wino, are you saying that the new G2 may NOT fit in a Kydex Mil Pro holster? I just ordered the Fobus SP11BRP this afternoon for my new G2......I hope it fits!
Yes - just saying not sure at this point. There is a difference in the distance from the muzzle to trigger guard vs, the G1. My SP11B paddle has a molded shoulder for the MilPro G1 to sit upon once it locks in at trigger guard
and the G2 doesn't have that ridge with the new mini-rail. I would be pleasantly surprised if the G1 & G2 can use the same molded holsters. I've been carrying my SP11B around with me to try fit with a G2, but no one has had one locally. I hope to get to range tomorrow and plan on stopping by a couple of Academy's on the way to see if any G2's in stock and to pick up some 740 mags if still in stock.

If you look at the comparison pictures at http://www.taurusarmed.net/forums/m...ew-g2-compared-older-brother.html#post1155505 you can see the difference in trigger guard, length from muzzle to trigger guard and G2 thickness with rail vs. the G1 - that's the area of problems I see with molded holster fit. On the other hand it MAY work as all MilPro G1's use same SP11B Fobus and PT145 has a rail.

You'll have to let us know what you find out.

Since you've ordered a SP11B for your G2, you'll probably know before I do. Be sure to give us a heads up on fit.

Just found this website. This might be just the thing considering no one else has a custom holster for this pistol yet. And at less the $30 with a 30 day money back guarantee, I'm willing to try it out.

"U-Mold-It" - Inside the Waistband - Hip - Gun Holster Kit - Old Faithful Holsters
No doubt a viable option, but I believe most are (at least me) concerned about having to buy another holster for the G2 when I have a perfectly good G1 holster or don't have a G1, just bought a G2 and want to know what holster will fit. All the non-molded holsters, Remora, Sof-Tucks, Mini-Scabbard, etc. will work with either. It's the SP11B Fobus or the Old Faithful Kydex that fits the PT24/7 AND the PT140 G1 that are in question.

Any new luck in finding a holster that fits the g2. I got a springfield xd molded from a friend. It fits but has a slight gap between the bottom of the trigger guard and the bottom of the holster. it causes a small amount of movement front to back.

Spent over an hour at Cabela's looking for a holster, the gun shop I purchased the pistol sold me a leather slide that I really didn't care for. Found a Blackhawk Kydex for a Glock that fits perfectly, the package said G27 G36 and I believe 33 too.
