I have a clamping board with a straight edge and a template of the lower edge of the pistol (made out of scrap wood). I use a heat gun to heat up the Kydex being held by the straight edge and pull it over the pistol. Then I clamp down the template tight. Wearing thick gloves I heat spots where I want detail and push/hold down the Kydex to get the detail I want. I have been doing it this way for a while now and I find it to be quicker than using a press. It actually takes me longer and it is much harder to make the clips.
No interest in going into the holster business as I feel like I'm still learning, NTM I use the actual pistol to make my molds.
