Finally. I must try one. Have to. I know some others around here have shown an interest . . .

I must have missed your post - I necroed another HP carbine thread to mention this.

Anyway, I already ordered one - I don't have a HP carbine, tho. :p

This will be remedied soon.

The price is steep...they said it would be...4+ years ago when they announced them...

still a bit disappointed with the overall implementation, though. This thing is kind of a bullpup. They could easily have shortened it up by another 5 inches but chose not to do so.

Don't get me wrong, I think it looks cool as all get out, but still seems somewhat of a missed opportunity to really make a fantastic product.

$249 about doubles the cost of a HighPoint. Not for mine, thanks.

I'm gonna have to pass on this also, price aside, i feel like the configuration isn't really a true bullpup. About 3-4" less on the shoulder stock side would serve this gun much better IMO, but considering that the charging handle is on the left side i suppose it's unavoidable. As it sits now, all it's really done is move your firing hand forward a few inches, and it's not enough to drop another $250 on it.

Not my cup of tea. To those who say it could have been shorter, look at the specs. With the Hi Point installed this comes out to 26 1/4". They made this as short as they legally could. Where I think they missed the mark is the mag well. In my opinion, they should have molded the mag well to accept a different magazine. Find a double stack mag with the same feed angle and design the mag well around that!

It's just too damn expensive!!! I'd buy another hi-point carbine before I cough up that kind of money... $250 + shipping!

:pfff:

I received my e-mail notification on availability from HTA also, but decided I would rather add the 45acp H-iPoint Carbine to my 9mm and 40S&W instead of spending the money on a bullpup wrap.

An adjustable stock to allow the thing to be shorter would have been good for the price, since the ATF measures with the stock extended. That could have saved at least another couple of inches...

Still looks cool, though
My biggest beef with bullpups is because of the necessary long linkage the triggers on them are usually horrible.

SGWorks has done a "Fly-by-wire" kind of trigger that is actually pretty good for their SKS Bullpup conversion. It's one of my favorite plinkers (plus, shooting Wolf steel case, I don't need to chase brass :))
