Let us know how the 45 handles; we have a 380 hi point and really like it.
Hi-Point .45 ACP
So I was pretty set to order myself a new Taurus Model 940B in a day or two. Then the shop I do business with, that I dropped by on my lunch hour, just happened to have this new Hi-Point .45 ACP in and for sale. Well the 940B is on hold for a little longer because I am picking up the Hi-Point tomorrow afternoon along with a goodly amount of American Eagle 230 grain FMJ's and some 230 grain Hydra-Shok JHP's. Shop owner is a good guy and I got a good deal.

I have a HiPoint 45. I like the fact that it has adjustable sights so I don't have to hide my target behind a big front blade, Heine style.
If I had longer fingers I would have stuck with it, but the 24/7 Taurus has a much better/smaller grip for me, even though it holds 3 more rounds.

My step dad has both the HiPoint .45 and .380 and seems to really like them both.
i'd like to get the c9, the 45 seems way to big.. not seen the .40
im not particularly impressed by the design.. SA, no firing pin block, poly frame, single stack mag, not horribly accurate but, reasonable.
but it's made in my state and the warranty has me wanting to give it a try, the price is very reasonable on HP guns.
although.. it's been going up steadily, which i take as a good thing oddly enough.

For a plinker, one would think the Hi-Points would be hard to beat for the price. The warranty they carry is the icing on the cake.
Look at it on the bright side, if it ever malfunctions in a life or death situation, you can throw it at the bad guy. As heavy as they are, it'd knock 'em out cold.
Just kidding you, but they ain't pretty. However, with the good reveiws Hi-point's have been getting, I don't see how you can go wrong.

They're just so darn ugly that they're almost pretty. 
Kinda like some people think of the looks of Glocks. (Personally, I think the Glock is a lot prettier except in the price tag)

hmm the great Hi-point vs glock beauty contest..

I finally got to shoot the Hipoint .45 and .380 the other day. I really liked them both. Both seemed to be accurate enough and I was surprised that the .45 had much less recoil than I expected. Both are too big, in my opinion, and I agree they're not going to win any beauty contests.
My first time shooting the .45 I put 8 out of 8 rounds in a 5" paper target at about 25 feet. Two hand hold, unsupported. And I'm no marksman by any measure.

this was my first, no complaints at all with accuracy, the recoil was very minimal as well...just didnt like the overall feel of it so i got rid of it...if your strapped for cash and want a 45 for home defense i say go for it...i put almost a 1000 rounds thru it before i got rid of it and only 1 jam...very reliable despite what the hi point haters say
I would have to disagree with this statement. Mine is right on accurate. The only thing that affects the accuracy of my C9 is me. I have a friend that owns a .380. Seems good for $139. If you limp wrist it, it will not eject. Hold it tight, it is flawless.

Yeah but then they stick way out of the bottom and they look goofy. They also make the balance of the gun off center. I have also heard from some people that they are not as good at loading as the 8 rd mags.
