Having issues of "sticking" with the slide when breaking down my PT145

842 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  dbeardslee
The last time I had cleaned it after going to the range, it was very difficult to push the slide forward (as in: using more force than required). I have broken it down many times before with no issue. :confused:Anyone relate or offer advice?

Thanks guys.

I've never had a problem with mine. Are you still having a problem with it?
You might take a look at this thread - PT145 slide getting hard to remove? Here's the fix...
Thank you, this is an informative piece of information that will be applied this evening to see if it will correct my FA.

No sweat. PT145's have steel slides and alloy mini-frames. If you've got a burr on the slide the steel can start chewing into the alloy, and you may see some wear marks on the mini frame as a result, so take a real close look at the mini frame when you're examining it. I haven't had any more trouble out of mine since I fixed it, but it's definitely something to keep an eye on. Let us know what you find.
