It is hard to figure out the thinking of these people at Taurus International.
When it comes to the Taurus 692 revolver. Tripple threat is a good idea. 38spl., 357 and 9mm.

Why not a 2" barreled version for carry minus the adjustable sight ? To me a 3" barrel is a little uncomfortable as a carry gun especially if it is of the Compact frame as is the model 617. At times I carry the 617 but to me it is just a little to big for great comfort like the 605.

You really have to scratch your head.

There are some people, like myself, that prefer a 3 inch barrel on a revolver to a 2 inch barrel. I feel I get a better sight picture or weapon silhouette for aiming, a little more velocity from the ammunition being shot, and a little better counter balance to the overall revolver. And adjustable sights are nice to have, regardless of barrel length.
