Had a Great Time at local Indoor Range with my Son yesterday

My son gave me a 4 hour gift card at a relatively new indoor range here in Ashland KY.

I decided to ask him to go with me Monday afternoon and shoot a little.

He shot his Ruger SR9c while I broke out the PT145. I had not shot it in some time but have been carrying it quite often.

I forgot how great this thing shoots!

I shot a box of Perfecta 230 grain FMJ, a box of Federal Champion 230 grain Aluminum Case, a couple of mags of Remington 230 grain Golden Sabers (my primary SD carry ammo), and about 30 rounds of my old carry ammo 185 grain Hornady Critical Defense and Zombiemax.

My PT145 ate them all without a flaw!

My son shot mainly Tula Steel case 115 grain and some WWB as well as his 115 grain Critical Defense rounds in his Ruger. It also performed flawlessly.

Before leaving I fired about 30 various rounds of .357 through my Ruger SP101 too.

We had a great time and made plans to go back next week after my new pistol arrives at my FFL.

Getting out is great, isn't it! My range partner is my wife. I enjoy the time we get to spend together and am grateful that she has been enthusiastic about guns and shooting. Will add that there is no one that I would rather share a fishing boat with she is that much fun!

That's swell.

I've been wanting to go out shooting with my dad since last Summer, but sadly couldn't find the time, hopefully sometime this year.

Tuco not meant to lecture but please do not wait to "Find Time". You need to take time to make time. Before you know it there won't be time to make anything. I know it's easier said than done at times. I misses seeing my children grow up because I was too busy working or too tired when I wasn't working. Working nights just made it even so much more missed.

I agree kmw.

Tuco, my father had a stroke in Nov 2016 and passed away just this last October. I would do anything to be able to go do anything with him just one more time. :'(

Figure out a way to make it happen or you may not get the chance.

My only son lives 8 hours away in Minnesota and I do not get to see him or the grandchildren nearly enough and now with my old legs the way they are it's hard to ride in the car that long.

Sounds like fun. My youngest two want to go to the range soon as well. Think we need to make that happen soon.

My daughter took the lecture part of her CCW class...has to do practical with next 2 weeks. I went to range with her and my youngest son(who's a wonderful; patient teacher on the range). She learned quite a bit from him.
