I don't know what notchy means, but it sure doesn't sound anything like "click" "click"

HMM? so something changed with the grip safety while using it??
I have had a couple of 1911's that I actually incresed the tension on the grip safety because they made some noise when engaging it and wasn't particularly smooth, and i liked that better.
But I can't say that i have ever had a grip safety change with use?

with out the pistol in hand the only thing i can think of is the arm on the grip saftey might be riding slightly over the trigger bow. the notch in the arm might have worn, but in both pistols at the same time i don't know just a guess.

Like I said, everything still works fine...It is just the "clicking" in and out of engagement that is disserting....I guess I will have someone qualified look at them. Thanks guys...
