I lived here since 2001, and own a ported PT945 since 98'. I always carry C&L but I have a safety issue that needs to be corrected... while releasing the slide a piece of the hammer catch broke off. Now when I use the safety to decock the hammer the hammer slams home to the firing pin. What is the normal procedure for getting a repair? Can I send it myself or do I have to got thru a FFL? Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum, glad you could join us.

I've never had to send a firearm back for repair but from what I gathered reading various forums and hearing from those that have, I believe it doesn't have to go through an FFL holder (though I'm sure they'd handle it for a fee) but I do believe it has to be mailed next day delivery via UPS, FedEx or the USPS.

If another staff or board member has any knowledge regarding this, they'll probably contribute as well.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
