Got these grips from an ebay seller today, came in the mail and promptly screwed them on...only to find they are a lot bigger grips. :???:

They are comparable to S&W target size grips in girth and height, fat in the palm swell as well. So, if you've got big paws they should work just fine...trouble is my old hands are thick and kind of short in the fingers.

I'm going to leave them on for awhile, try to get use to them. What do you guys think...

This is same gun with the original grips on it...they are about the size of S&W magna style.

When I first viewed these new grips, (actually they are used) the seller did not post what they fit...he didn't know per usual with ebay sellers.

So, looking at the picture of them I reasoned they might fit my taurus because of their height which was 4.75 inch high...that's all I had to go on.

I thought they would be the same size as the ones that were already on the gun, but was wrong about that...they are bigger and fuller like the S&W target stocks.

He had a buy now price of $9.95 plus $5.00 postage. Guess no one else needed them as I got them for that price.

I'm still chaffing at not getting that model 441 with the sexy Hogue woodies in Tulip wood...which is kind of orange color. That gun and grips went for $421.01 on Gunbroker auction...I crapped out at $377 which was my self imposed limit.

If you're looking for grips on Gunbroker, punch up pistol parts, then maybe type in the search window the type of grips you are looking for.

Here is an unusuall photo I took yesterday, it shows the revolver resting upside down on its sights on the wood paneling background.

Then the photo was flipped to appear right side up...kind of winter weird, hey what?

I think I can live with these grips, but won't know for sure until next spring thaw...we got 2 to 3 foot snow drifts at the range right now.

Photo now flipped to appear like its rightside up...but it ain't. ;D

I just got this reply from the woodmeister at Hogue's grips, he doesn't seem to be able to come up with the orange tone slight grain Tulip wood grips...like the gun I lost out on at the auction.

But he has sorely tempted me on some Coco Bolo grips that look pretty darn terrific, waiting to hear back from him if the grips in the picture is the actual ones I'd be getting.

The fellow is [email protected] , the manager of the wood shop design dept. at Hogues.

This is day two since I've asked about buying the grips, no reply yet...speed is not one of their better attributes.

I need a price and informed that the grips I've seen here, are the ones I'll be getting.

Well dang it!

Its been a whole week, and haven't heard diddly from Richard the woodmeister at Hogues.

I would have bought those grips he sent a picture of to me, but he never answered back.

Hogue website people are about as good as Taurus mfg. co. website people...Is anyone in there? (from Pink Floyd lyrics)
