Shot 5 rounds out of a 12 round mag yesterday in my PPQ45 and then the squib happened. Can’t back the round out. I’ll give Walther a call tomorrow.

This is the second squib I’ve experienced, first one was in a different gun. Both had a lot of unspent powder in the gun and on my hands.

This ammo was new factory self defense loads.

Glad to see you were not injured. What brand of factory ammo?

That's a scary thought, having a squib as your first round in a gun fight.
Was the other squib Liberty ammo too?

It’s a “call everyone and see what they say” kind of day tomorrow

Squibs are more of an issue with the ammo, the ammo manufacturer is at fault.
As long as the firearm isn't damaged I don't think there is anything Walther can do, if it is damaged then the makers of Liberty Critical Defense owe You a new gun.
I also don't trust small ammunition manufacturers even for practice ammo.

Walther wants it back to thoroughly examine the pistol. I've only had it 2 months + 150 rounds.

I have used Walther CS three times, and they got the gun back in short order each time. Sorry to hear about those Liberty squibs. How does the PPQ 45 shoot, when it was running?

Liberty ammo said that box of ammo was made in 2014 and they’d replace the box for my trouble.

They fixed the pistol no cost and no shipping costs.

I'm actually surprised to hear they even took it. One time I got a stuck case in my Walther PPK/S .22 and when I contacted them they informed me that I would have to have a gunsmith remove the stuck case because they claimed that firearms with stuck cases couldn't be legally shipped due to the risk that the cartridge was still live. I assured them that it was just the stuck brass and that the bullet had already been fired, but they still refused to send me a shipping label. Fortunately, I was able to eventually free the stuck case myself.
