Hello everyone. I've just found this forum while looking for similar issues as mine. Has anyone had an instance where the number 2 optics plate has broken on the right side. I'm currently running a Swampfox Justice. I am torquing the mounting screws to 15 in/lbs as an FYI.

Two reasons a piece normally breaks, under torque, allowing movement, and over torque, allowing stress.

15 in/lbs would be 240 in/oz's. That's a lot. The manual calls for 8.2 in/lb's, or 131.2 in/oz. I work in in/oz, just converted to make it easier for me, plus, shows how dramatic the over torque is.

I've enclosed the page of the manual, assuming it's the correct one. But the MOST I've ever seen called for, is 10 in/lb.

I could be wrong, and surely would be corrected if so, but I would start there.

Thanks for the response. I saw that in the manual but followed the Swampfox instructions. I'll get a new plate and try again.

8 inch lbs is not that much, Most thumb screws are 18 -20 if not more ,
