Have any of you all seen or noticed a change in the magazine finish on the G3C ? I have a G3C I bought earlier this year and it is a bit flat black or mat-black. My other G3C I got this year is the normal glossy black finish. Is this something that needed to be done or just a change for easier manufacturing?

Interesting change, I wonder if it's more durable than the original.

I put some in the ultrasound with heat and left them in a bit too long. The shiny black paint came off making them look like WW II surplus.

The mat-black feels a bit durable but who knows. I think Beretta went the reverse route and had a coating on theirs but it started collecting sand, then they went with a slick finish to let the sand just slide off. I am still new to Taurus. I normally carry Glock and Beretta. I saw a sale on the G3C a few months ago and got one. Then today there was another sale on them for $199 so I couldn't resist that. So I am going to start using them and seeing how they work and all. Hopefully this forum is a bit better than the Glock forum.

The G3C is a great carry option and sig P226 larger capacity magazines can also work. This forum is quite a step up from most other gun groups. Welcome aboard.

Hmmm! All of my G-Series magazines are smooth. I bought another G3 in July and picked it up right before I was t-boned by a woman running a stop sign. I haven't looked as yet, but I believe the mags are smooth. Is this change only in the G3c series magazines?
