I just picked up 2 18rd Mec-Gar mags from Wholesale Hunter... not the best price on Ammoseek, but the best shipping. Less than half what the other guys were charging.Mec-Gar Sig P226 mags will work.
And they're reliable, that alone is worth something.I just picked up 2 18rd Mec-Gar mags from Wholesale Hunter... not the best price on Ammoseek, but the best shipping. Less than half what the other guys were charging.

I haven't gotten mine out to try yet, but reading your experience is concerning. It is the first that I have heard of issues with the Mec Gar P226 magazines but the past experiences were all with PT 111 G2's IIRC...not the G2c. I really have to get to the range so I can see if I want to carry with those as a backup.Okay, now I am intermittently seeing an issue with the Mec Gar mags. About 10% of the time I am now getting a failure to feed. It could be me limp-wristing it, but I am only getting it on the 18 round Mec Gar mags, and both of them get the same percentage of failures. My stock 12 round magazines do not have this issue. This is with Winchester 115gr brass standard factory rounds. I did not take a picture of the failures, but the round will fail to feed into the chamber completely and makes the slide stick open about an inch. It is easy to clear, just drop the mag, lock open the slide and pull out and inspect the round. The ammo has never been damaged, and fires just fine afterward when put directly into the chamber or loaded back into the mag.
Ideas?
I won't rule out that it is me, could be I am not holding the gun firmly enough when firing. Also, I have yet to disassemble the mags and clean them out. So I will try that.I haven't gotten mine out to try yet, but reading your experience is concerning. LOL, it's an OCD thing, I have it too. A girl that works for say "flustrated", it kills me.I know, I know. I hate to be THAT guy.... but the word is COMPATIBILITY.
Okay. I said it.
I'm at a loss as to an explanation. I have an 18 rounder Mecgar mag and it works fine in my PT111 G2. It does stick out from the bottom of the mag well, perhaps grip has something to do with it?Okay, now I am intermittently seeing an issue with the Mec Gar mags.
