G2C Extractor Issue (lube question)

Too much lube.

This is attracting powder foulding, and then gunking things up. I would suggest cleaning the whole extractor system again, then reassembling it dry. The little amount of movement it needs should not require lubing.

This is a problem within other areas of firearms. Too much lube/oil in the firing pin/bolt, striker channel, inside the magazine/spring area....and others. Some places do not need oil/lube.

Breakfree CLP should be replaced by WD-40. Apply a small amount with a Q-Tip.

Other wise, bend the extractor.
Why use a water displacement solution for a lubricant? WD-40 made a gunsmith I knew very well alot of money each year by guys spraying it all over their hunting shotguns/rifles for "protection", and then paying him to "fix" something that should have worked. All he had to do was disassemble the firearm and clean out the WD-40 residue/shellac, lube correctly, and charge them for his time.

WD-40 is great for dispacing water/liquids, and then leaving shellac on the surface after the carrier evaporates.....not great for tight spaces like an extractor groove.

I use WD-40 for what it was designed for, keeping the water and ice from building up on my V-plow attachment points....this makes life easier at the end of a long day when I need to get that plow off the machine. Spay on heavy in the morning, and forget about it for the rest of the day. Repeat the next time I hook up the plow.....
