Hello, new to the forum!
Just a bit of a background, I've been in a hunting family and around guns all of my life, 71 now.
I have a Springfield Mod 2 .40 S&W, Taurus .380 TCP and a Taurus G2C 9mm.
I did do some searching on the forum and found many battery/chamber issues, but none just like mine. So sorry if this is redundant to another thread I missed.
The G2C is my problem child. When I purchased the gun through RK Guns and picked it up, I purchased some FMJ ammo, brand I can't remember at the moment, remember, I'm 71...
Took it to the range and got the first shot off and then the second without any issues. The third was the one. The slide would NOT go forward enough to seal it up. I tried to lightly tap the slide forward, but did not force it really hard.
I kicked that shell out and the next chambered. (Maybe wrong term, but it went all the way in and fired nicely) Eventually it was almost every shell not chambering enough.
I took the ammo back and they replaced it with American Eagle and I shot probably 300 rounds of American Eagle without a hitch. I bought some Blaze 9mm and they were a NO GO as well. The ONLY ammo my G2C will fire is American Eagle and Remington, both FMJ.
On closer examination, it's clear that "good" shells will drop into the barrel all the way leaving just the groove on the end exposed. On a "bad" shell, they stick up another 1/16" or so and they do NOT seat all the way.
My nephew gave me 100 rounds of reloads and none of them would work. Although they all shoot great in his older Millennium 111.
Can I send just the barrel back to Taurus for a replacement?
There must be a spec dimension for the depth of the chamber and the bore diameter. Mine must be off on one of those two dimensions.
I've also cleaned, lubed and tried different mags with the same outcome.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Dan
