G2C .40 won’t fire

Bought it new 1.5 years ago and 800 rds through it. Today, at the range, the trigger would not move to fire and I couldn’t get the slide off. While looking at the gun a piece fell out of the magazine opening. Sending it in to Taurus for repair. Anyone know where this broken piece came from? Thanks.

My first thought was extractor, but then in the next pic it looks okay.
That photo is from another member.

I was thinking that metal peice was part of the extractor- but that would not prevent the trigger from moving.
What's the current warranty now on G2's? Mine was supposed to be a lifetime warranty but I heard they've changed it to one year.
I’m thinking trigger bar also. Taurus has received it but hasn’t started the repair yet. I’ll post what they find.
Received my gun back from Taurus and going to the range tomorrow. Here’s what was replaced.

Thanks for posting up what work Taurus did on your G2C 40 S&W. Looking forward to your range report.
Went to the range today to test it. The gun ran flawlessly, for 40 rounds. I felt a pain in my hand and was bloody. Turns out the 3 roll pins in the frame backed out to the left. Guess they reused the roll pins. I cleaned them up, applied some red locktite and knocked them back in.
Will go back to the range soon and retest.

Red Loctite or any Loctite on a roll pin is NOT a good idea. I would get new pins or at least contact Tarus. Loctite is wonderful stuff, but the red, and even the blue sometimes, works so well that you have to use heat to break it loose. Not a good idea with a plastic frame, it can eat or make brittle some types of plastic.

cnc1 Thanks for the info.
The repair was under warranty.

I registered my G2C 40 S&W for the lifetime warranty after picking it up from my LGS last autumn. I purchased it from Battlehawk Armory. There's this aricle about G2C & G2S models but I don't know anything about a G2(no suffix lettter) offhand. Were those subject to the recall lawsuit provisions?
