They redesigned the magwells last year to eliminate that problem. If you just purchased this weapon you should have no problems.

I have read several forums that some serial ranges of M&P 15 Rifles have lowers that are not manufactured to military specifications. More specifically, the magwell bevel, which causes aftermarket and polymer magazines to not seat into the magazine well. I just purchased a M&P 15 and I want to clarify before I purchase any PMAG Magazines, and possibly send my rifle in to have the lower replaced if necessary to have it mil spec.
