Fun plinking targets....

We bent the pins out 90 degrees on these, and stuck them into cardboard. The kids enjoyed plinking them. Sometimes the front half of the button would seperate from the back half, and give a good visual confirmation that the target had been hit

Nice, great idea! I've done action figures too, old BK toys that won't sell at the yard sale, loads of fun!
This reminds me when I was a kid shooting .22lr (Ruger Target rifles with peep sights) at the range. We would line up empty cartridge boxes and plink them! Loads of fun!
I like to watch things explode, such as water jugs, carbonated beverage cans, baloons, etc.
I was introducing some kids to shooting with an AirSoft gun. I had them shooting balloons that had been blown up really tight, but before blowing them up I had put some regular baby powder and confetti inside with a funnel! They loved it!
Thats sounds like a blast for the young ones ;)
You know what don't make good targets? Propane tanks.
Has anyone tried those targets that explode on impact just curios Iwat to try some just dont know if it would be worth it
Looks like fun. For a challenge, try this. My great grandfather would start a nail into a log, and drive it in with his 22 with open sights. I like to use shell casings. If you like the explosion, try the 0.99 cans of spray paint.
Reactive targets, IMO, are always more fun to shoot. :D
Shot a bunch of gourds down in the canyon yesterday. They are biodegradable too. :shooter:
Golf Balls.
That's all they're good for anyway.

A friend of mine bought them at a gun show and brought them over. We shot them with a .22lr, only about 60% actually exploded. Some just leaked out the powder when a bullet drilled through. The best was when we layered two targets on top of each other, KA-BLAM! Nice big flash and big explosion. They are fun to shoot and the kids that were shooting enjoyed them too!
Hey Smokewagon, your avatar looks awfully familiar......do you post at Glocktalk?
Golf balls are fun to shoot as well. Bowling balls, probably not so much unless one is using a .454 or a .500 Magnum. :D
I shot some promotional yo-yo's on time. pretty neat already had the string to tie it to whatever. In my younger years I use to get in trouble for shooting mom's cloth's pins off the clothes line with my 22 rifle. Also shot turnips out of the garden. Pretty much what ever I could find.
Oh My..the stuff we used to shoot as kids :D.

i used to shoot Plastic Model Airplanes with my shot gun....Build them-shoot them...what more could a kid ask for...He He

Yeah it works great! Make sure everyone has eye protection on as the BB's do bounce off sometimes!
Thanks RD... I will do that ;)
