I have posted about this pistol before. I inherited this from my brother. My brother had abused this poor old gal, she was in a sad state. I cleaned her up and found her to be a great shooter. I came back from the range last week and was giving her some attention. I just was not happy with the condition of the grips. The finish was wearing through in places and chipped in others.

I cleaned them and sanded them down, I was a little sad to see they were not a matched pair. But oh well.

Gave them several coats of Tru-Oil

I still need to get some ultra fine steel wool and smooth things out, but I think it looking much better

That's a keeper right there! Nice work -- it's always about the effort and affection you put into it :D

Glad to see she is getting taken care of. Sounds like your brother enjoyed using her. I inherited a 1982 nickel pt99 from my dad. I take it to the range every year around his time of death.

Very nice. If you find that the refinished grips are a little slick at certain times of the year I put Pachmayr on my PT92 and love them.
